Five for Friday

Here is a weekly review:
1. The kids turned in their summer reading chart and got to pick out coupons to local businesses. On Tuesday we had a great day out and about using FREE passes! We went to Pump it Up and I only had to pay for 1 child as opposed to three! We ate lunch at Chick Fillet(I only had to pay for me) and played at the play place in the mall, then we ended the day with Free ice cream at Culver's. It was a Fun, Cheap Day!! I Love those kind of days.
2. My brother in law is coming today with his kids. My kids (ok Deon and I too)are so excited to see them!
3. Last Sat. I took my teaching exam. I will find out in 4 weeks how I did. Then we had dinner at a friends house while the kids enjoyed the sitter. They could not wait for her to get here, Which is a nice change, they use to cry when we would leave(which was not that often).
4. Sunday we went swimming at City Park Pool. That has become our Sunday family activity together:)
5. The count down till school has began. I am not ready for the kids to go back :( I have truly enjoyed this summer with them! Last night they actually all played "school" together. I even let them stay up later since they were playing so nice together :)
* Just a heads up: I am not a writer, so if you find errors-just ignore them!!
Have a great Weekend!

Summer review

Well I am just getting started blogging. I have been wanting to keep a journal for my kids to read in the future, for me to reflect on and to keep our family and friends up-to-date, so I will journal here.
Summer 2009 flash back:
1. Andon graduated pre-school and will start Kindergarten, Devin will be a 1st grader, and Kendall can count to 16, knows her colors, shapes, cuts paper, and knows 7 letters . She will be starting pre-school with Miss Camhi in the fall.

2. Went to Hays for a Werth reunion and to celebrate my in-laws 40th ann. We took family photos at the horses. It was a nice time, we enjoyed seeing our families.

3. It's been a rainy summer just the way I remember it 10 years ago when I first moved out here and worked at the YMCA for 2 summers.
4. The boys are back in Karate. They are now an advanced yellow belts, both really enjoy going. Deon started karate classes too. He also is an yellow belt.
5. Kendall started her second session in gymnastics...LOVES it. I was actually going to end with the first session but she was very interested in the rainbow riders class (she goes out herself as before it was a parent/child class) SO I had to sign her up again...it is a soft spot I have.
We also went to the Denver Zoo with Camhi and her 2 boys.
6. Andon is riding his bike w/o training wheels!
7.Kendall turned three July 14th and had a princess party. She loves the princesses, her Build A Bears and their closet, and doing what her older brothers do. Aunt Sharon and Lauren came out for her party!
8.The kids spent a week in Hays with grandparents and Sharon. They had a great time; painted pottery, swimming, museum, horses, sleepovers, a party for Kendall (she was there on her actual b-day), county fair and movies. Deon and I had a date night every night! We went swimming laps, out to dinner, shopping, ice cream, cruised in the Land Cruiser, and really got to know on another on a husband/wife level. Well needed!
9. The kids and Deon did their first 5K run, Well Deon did the Huska-Huska Memorial Day while we played the games. Then in June we did the Father's Day 5K Deon ran the 3 miles, the kids did a kids fun run. Devin did very well, Andon complained some, and kendall did good running a very short distance with me.
10. I had my girls weekend...we went shopping, ate at Olive Garden (a favorite of ours) shopped more in old town then cooked chicken tacos(so yummy). Saturday we went to breakfast and chatted all morning, stopped and did the Budweiser tour then headed up to Estes Park. We drove up the RMNP, hiked Alberta Falls, stopped at the shops in town and ate dinner at P.F. Chang's. We all had a wonderful time, and cannot wait till next summer.
Well I hope I am somewhat caught up for this summer and I hope to post weekly: FIVE FOR FIVE FRIDAYS. That is where I will post 5 main things that happened during the week.
