Christmas/Holiday Events

Kendall's Preschool Program-Singing Jingle Bells
Kendall and I spent the day at Eyestone-Celebrating with the kids. We watched Polar Express with my 2nd grade class, then went to lunch with the the 2nd grade teachers. Helped Andon's class with a craft and went with them to an assembly. Returned to do more crafts and centers. Andon was so sweet with Kendall. He helped her with some crafts, held her hand while they listened to stories and even told me he would be in charge of her while I go to Devins class.
Devin at school, eating a snack during his holiday party.

Children's Garden light show. They had fairy dogs doing tricks, lights around the garden and Santa

In the summer, kids can pump water from this huge watering can and build dams through the mazes.

A visit with Santa while drinking hot coco and cider. Our friends Liza, William and Andrew and grandma meet us at the garden. Devin asked for a real dog...we'll have to See about that Santa told him

Dr Seuss playhouse

Wellington Fire Department Open House.
Devin is at the age where he is wondering. Instead of telling Santa what he wants, he was checking out his beard. He noticed how this Santa was different from the other one and said he could tell the beard was fake.

Santa made me sit on his lap too!

Firetrucks, Deon was sure interested in finding out all about the different gadgets on the trucks. the kids had fun climbing around on the firetrucks.

I DID IT!

It has been a long adventure, but I finally made it. I pursued my teaching degree after graduating High School, I had several bumps in the road between then and now. We moved to Colorado so I waited to gain residency, then started a family and took another break to stay home with them. I returned in January 2009 and finished my semester of student teaching this fall.
My Graduation Party: I had not interest in walking. I know in my heart the huge accomplishment I have made. Having a family, changes your view on many things in life. (Always for the better)

Cheers to me! Devin is toasting with sparkling grape juice. The kids did AWESOME at the party. They played nice and were very excited to decorate the basement, which was the kids
party place.

Cheers with the Leikam sisters and the kids-minus Kendall, she was asleep.

Catch up time

1st and 2nd grade music program-Holiday Theme. Devin and Grant waiting for the song to begin. They were dancing candles!

I will spend a couple posts catching up on the last 2 months- This post will include my Birthday, Thanksgiving, and the Parade of Lights
Kendall and Andon staying warm while watching the Parade of Lights here in Wellington. Devin and I were in the parade with the Boy Scout float. Afterwards we went to the Wellington chili supper, Santa was there, and we found out Devin's float took third place! This has been a tradition of ours since we moved here, one of the perks of a small town.

We spent Thanksgiving with family in Hays this year. Thursday were had a dinner at the Werth's house. Shirley made lots of good food, lots of family to visit with, and the kids had a great time playing outside. The weather was perfect. On Friday, Sharon and I cooked dinner at the Leikam's house. The Beiker's joined us for dinner. Earlier that day, I worked out with Sharon and went to lunch with Leigh and Tara.

Kendall is working out with her little weights.

My Birthday Celebration...we went to Pizza Hut on my Birthday, then on Friday night Deon picked up Taco Johns and a carrot cake.

SNOW DAY

Snow day...need I say more!

It snowed for 2 days. No school for 2 days!

Sledding in the back yard! To them it is a big hill. We had a great 2 days off together. We lounged in jammies til lunch time, watched cartoons, made pizza for lunch, I got my hair styled by Kendall and built a lego town. What a Great Day! The next snow day we went to Kendall's preschool Halloween party, ended up staying for lunch(grown up time) and the boys played outside building a fort with Caid.

FIVE for FRIDAY

1. On Thursday we had our first snow fall of the year. It was BEAUTIFUL! Of course I would look out the window at school and see snow laying on the leaves, then it would be gone, and reappear.
2. We made ghosts with the family for our front lawn. I will post a pic of them soon. Kendall and i made girl ghosts, Deon made a scary ghost.
3. Devin had a flag ceremony with Boy scouts Friday. It was a school wide Assembly, his troop got to help retire flags by burning them outside of the school. He is so proud being a boy scout. It was chilly and he did not want to wear his coat because he had on his uniform. It is good for him to be part of something that is just "his". No brother, or sister to tag along.
4.My in-laws are here this weekend, it is snowing as I write! We will go to karate, a b-day party at Jumpin and maybe-just maybe the Harvest Farms with the White family (Wes and Liza).
5. I can not wait to make cookies this weekend, it will be a great cookie making weekend :)

Friday, September 25, 2009

Well it's Friday and it's 8:00 in the morning, why I am blogging so early when I should be at school? I have a sick kid home today :(
1. Andon is home with a cough and a 103 temp. therefore I kept Kendall home and Devin thought he needed to stay home today too. Needless to say we are all home today. I am quite bummed about this decision because the school has a Walk-a-thon today after school that we were going to participate in :( We all got these cool shirts to wear today at school and unfortunately we are wearing ours at home instead.
2. Monday we had a teacher work day, the kids went to my friends house for the day. She is so awesome, she took them to Jumpin -inflatable indoor play area! I was feeling bad that they had to go to daycare on a day off from school-but they had a great time!
3. Tuesday was the first day of Fall. I am ready for the weather change, not sure I am this ready though. It already has been snowing in the mountains, colder here and cloudy most of the week-blah!
4. At our staff meeting 0n Wednesday, my coop-teacher gave me a KUDDOS for always being there and we gave each other hugs. Now of course I fell bad that I am not there because I am home with a sick kid.
5. Thinking of all my friends back in Hays this weekend! Be safe and have a wonderful Octoberfest weekend...wish I was there! I will be taking a test this weekend in Greeley.

Devin is Offically a Tiger Scout...they are selling popcorn. If you would like to buy some let me know!

FIVE for FRIDAY

Well i am one day late for my post:
1. Devin went to a cub scout meeting Thursday, he really liked it and wants to become a member! The best part is he wants dad to go with him to the meetings :) So today we are going to get his uniform. At the meeting they made marshmallow guns, ate cake, and gave awards (not sure what else since dad took him). Andon played Lego's while D was gone, he said he enjoyed his quite time to himself!!
2. Girls night out last night with Christa! We went to dinner and a movie, however when we showed up at 7:30, the movie times changed so we returned at 9:30. In the mean time we went to the mall and Target.
3. Devin had his eye appointment this week, everything went well! His eyes are tracking like they should, nothing he was worried about. That just leaves me with some unanswered prayers/questions.
4. The boys have two Birthday parties this weekend... Today is a sleepover at Austin's and tomorrow is Luke's party-both boys are invited to both parties. I guess that is what happens when they are so close in age and have had the same friends for the last 4+ years.
5. Tomorrow we are going to go to church. It has been quite a while since we have been there. The boys and K- have been asking/wanting to go, Deon actually mentioned that we go this Sunday.
Have a great week- Tomorrow I will make cupcake Brownies for the week. Every week I make something to take to daycare for the kids to have for snack.

FIVE for FRIDAY

Pumpkin bowling
Digging for...

Buried toys in the haystack

Corn husk men

Bean bag toss

1. I was playing Lego's with A- when I found a mini tractor. i asked him if he still plays or is into tractors these days...he replied "that was from my 'babiness' days" LOL!!
2. My parents are in town this weekend... ahhh my children are staying the night at the hotel with them. That means I get my bed to myself (and Doen) and no one will be sleeping on the floor next to my bed. Let's just hope I do not have to pick anyone up in the middle of the night. I am blogging, FBin and did some online homework.
3. Excited to visit and spend time with my parents Sat. and Sun. Not too sure what we will do, but I am just glad to see them. It has been awhile!
4. I have so much work to do for student teaching...Once again I am so thankful for my daycare/friend. She told me today that if I even needed time to clean or what not..let her know and she would watch the kids later for me. "sniff...sniff"
5. Labor day we had some good friends over for dinner. It was a great time...we made ckn fajitas-Yum! The kids had fun playing together too.

I start teaching math lessons on Monday...I have to do a lesson plan this weekend...Yikes!
