kendall and I played birthday party today. Dixie is her little friend, so she thought it should be Dixie's pretend birthday (I am SURE Dixie did not mind). I had a free sample of canned dog food that came with the bag I bought, so we added 2 candles (that is how old she is now). Look at those EYES!

Kendall blew out the candles for Dixie and we sang Happy Birthday to her.

Today we also finished the swing set..YEA!

Kendall helping put the swong set together last weekend. It was put on hold this week due to the "winter" weather.

The Before picture. Piles of wood + three helpers=a time you wish grandparents lived close by...LOL!
Well I better go, working at the school Feild Day tomorrow ALL day!

Scout Graduation

This weekend was Devin's BoyScout graduation. He started out as a Tiger in first grade and
is now a WOLF! Notice the yellow necker-shiff. He received this AWESOME backpack for his perfect attendance at scouts :) Devin plans to use it for camping and hiking. He did not want to use it for school his last week so it would not get ruined.
Flag salute. Little brother has been watching, waiting, and learning the steps a scout makes so this summer/fall he can be a scout too.

Exchange of the necker-shiffs.

Mommy loves you!

Receiving all the awards; badges, pins, beads and a case for first aid items from his den leader.

just thoughts

Today I ran for 45 mins I felt GREAT! (that is not including the 5 min.cool down). Off to dance class, and then since I did not have Faith today, Kendall and I went swimming. We had such a fun day together. After school the boys noticed that the climbing wall for the swing set was put together. i told them that I put it together and they were SO IMPRESSED by my power tool experience! Deon and I worked on part of their swing set last night INSIDE the house since it was SNOWING out in MAY. I know, Iknow, I have lived here for 12 years and I know that this is not unusual, but please send the NICE weather.
Where is the warm weather and sunshine? NOT here, it snowed last night and possibilities of it again tonight.(sigh) On a brighter side Florida is just around the corner :)
Good night all...

Later that SunDay....

Lesson learned about putting off your to-do-list: this was a 5 year, back burner item and resulted in...(read on)

ENDING: Two walls are red and 2 are light tan, we moved the dresser which freed up extra space to play. I LOVE IT!(so do they!!)

SIX STITCHES LATER...
MIDDLE: that night after dinner, I was cleaning up the kitchen, Deon headed out the door to return a movie and the kids were playing hide-n-seek. JUST as Deon walked out the door, I heard Kendall crying and the boys rushed down to get me(they were panicked). I ran up to find Kendall on the top bunk with blood everywhere. The boys had put a cup of water on a fan blade and told Kendall to come look at it(WHILE THE FAN WAS ON and the bunk bed was moved right UNDER the CEILING FAN!!!). She stood up and as she said "I forgot to DUNK". Needless to say, the fan blade took a chunk right out of her forehead. I applied a wet towel to her head to stop the bleeding and as soon as Deon returned, we were driving to PVH (the ER). We talked the whole way there, I did not want her to sleep with a head injury. She was so good, we got in right away and talked about everything while waiting for the numbing to kick in. She cried and felt pain when they put stitches in. As a mom, this pulls at our heartstrings too. I felt the pain for her, I wish it could have been me instead. After, she got a kitty and the next morning was cruising down the stairs in a cloth toy bin. And to think she was the first one out of the three to get stitches...

BEFORE:
Later that Sunday, after our scouting event, we began painting the boys bedroom. This was a before picture, just plain white walls. Their room needed to be painted. It was on my to-do-list for the last 5 years!!
This is the corner wall that the bunk bed goes in, it will be red(both walls).

Busy Week with Scouts

Andon doing pull-up on the tree, he did lots of these and went all the way up!
You don't see many of these slides around any more. Devin sliding down.

doing a hike with the Tiger Scouts.

Devin, Hagan and Evan with siblings at an old school house. We got a tour and talk about the similarities and differences between school now and back then. Old Buck-Eye one room school house. The teacher lived in the basement ( I am glad that no longer exists).

Sunday was a Scout outings day. We toured a school house, hiked a trail and had a picnic lunch.
