Haunted Weekend

We arrived at 9:50 a.m. checked in and we were off the do Wrist Rockets. We got distracted at the small pond with the Big play ship.
On our into the light house(a light house must be by a body of water, have a boat, and the light house building to count as a Light house) we saw our friends inside playing BINGO. So we joined in, them climbed the tower.  This is the highest lighthouse in the USA. NOT the tallest, but the Highest, because it is at a higher elevation, it is the highest!

Gravesite Hike started at 11:00 so we headed off to hike. Here is an old house that was built up there. Devin is exnaming the nail heads. The square heads were used built my hand (a blacksmith) and the round heads were make from a factory.

This house is about the right size for Kendall!
After the hike was lunch:hot dogs, chips, cookies, Koolaid and veggies.
Hmmm, I wonder if I could climb that tree? He thinks while the parents decide where to go next.
In Fort Unfug... bowling.
 And BB Rifle-look out boys!!

 Also Archery

After this the kids climbed around on huge bolders, Kendall and Andon did not want to waist any more time so I took them to pumpkin carving. Later we met the others at the Handicraft station. They made wooden frogs, leather coin holders, and neckerchif slide.
We set up camp:
Climbed on the rocks next to our tents..
Dinner was served at 5:15-Beef stew, brownies, dinner rolls, and koolaid.
After dinner we(the kids) got into costumes and did a parade around the dining hall while the judges picked the best costumes.
We had the Hunter, the magician, the bat, the warewolf bronco player and a witch.
Warewolf bronco player took first!!
From here we headed to a haunted house. Andon and I were to only two in my family to go, and it was not so haunted! After this the Garrison's left and we went to the on camp store and Andon got this:
Fudge bar, and we relaxed on the benches to kill time.
 My Loves!!
Getting ready for bed-trying to stay warm...Andon played Mario Bros and drew on the DSi, Devin slept earlier, I watched Andon.
The kids fell asleep, I was felling too confined with long johns, fleece pants, three layers on top and a mummy sack. I could not sleep. It got so bad that I thought I was going to have to sleep in the van or worse yet...GO HOME. I decided to unzip the mummy bag and then I was able to sleep for longer periods. It was windy which was actually peaceful to listen too. It was just blowing at the tree tops.
Finally it was MORNING! I could not wait to get up and get moving! Breakfast was at 7:30 we had cold cereal, bagels, donughts, eggs, and coffee that was always out. We packed up our clothes, pillows, sleeping bags, rolled up the tents, wheel barrowed 2 loads of stuff to the van, checked out and we were off. The kids did great, No melt downs!! I went grocerey shopping and pet mouse shopping-We did come home to a dead mouse. Andons mouse was not doing so well when we left, I thought he was doing better :(
I got the house back to order before Monday so that we could start another organized work week.  :)

My projects!

Since the kids did not have school Thursday or Friday, I didn't have preschool either, therefore I had extra time to craft/bake <3
I made 26 chocolate suckers some for everyone!!
Scouts, teachers, preschoolers, and William&Andrew.
{The kids got one too and there friends}

Bad picture of one of the suckers.
 Tied and Boo-tiful
I baked 6 mini loafs of pumpkin bread for teachers.
The crafts I had planned for the kids, were not as exciting as the ones they come up with on their own. The boys made Chinese finger traps with LOTS of MY tape and construstion paper. Kendall had a friend over, Andon had a friend over and we played Wii, spent 7 hours outside in the fort, playing football, baseball and in the sand/dirt box.
I spent most of Friday packing for the weekend! We went to Hounted Weekend and the Boy Scout Camp.

Skinny Jeans!

Look who picked out and wore her first pair of jeans in 3 years!
On our Saturday Morning Girls Day, we stopped at Gymboree. Kendall picked out a pair of jeans and asked if I would buy them...I said No because you never wear them. She said thats because I don't have any. So after trying them on, we left the store with her first pair of skinny jeans. AND she wore them to school today!

Corn Maze and Birthdays'

Friday night Fall Festival was GOOD!  We ended up with enough volunteers, I worked the book swap. That was a Hit!! We ended up with Tons of books that were donated from girl scouts, teachers, and parents. We had a good turn out, I was afraid we would be slammed with 500 kids and parents all waiting in long lines to play the games. Then when I got there, I was afraid NO ONE but our kids would be there.   Everything went smoothly and the night was a success!

Saturday was the Girl scout corn maze. We went on a scavenger hunt to find 6 shapes, once you found the station, you hole punched the card, if you found all 6 you got a free pumpkin. Here is Kendall with her pumpkin. It was a good thing we went with another family or else Kendall and I would still be in there!
We left the corn maze and headed to a birthday party, stopped at Gymboree and got the kids some winter clothes, got home and took Andon to a Birthday party while we went to Tai Pan-yum!
Sunday was Devin's turn for a Birthday party!
The kids have parent teacher conferences this Thursday and Friday, So I planned some fun Halloween projects! I'll post pictures...

FIVE for FRIDAY

Week in Review:
1. Last weekend was just a regular weekend here. Andon had a sleepover Friday, we had pumpkin patch plans but the rain canceled that! So I took the kids to the thrift store to find costumes, Devin is going to be a bat, I sewed black felt (bat wings)onto a black hoodie-now that's the kind of sewing projects I like. Nothing too completed, however I did spend lots of time ripping out the seems because I kept sewing the selves together :( Kendall is going to be a princess witch that I bought several years ago at Children's Place and she never wore. Andon is a magician-he has become fond of magic- We scored at the thrift store and found a magic kit for kids. He has been practicing EVERY NIGHT since, reading about magic, searching on the Internet and stumping everyone in the family (except me, I am his trusty assistent :)). He says magic and hockey are his 2 favorite things in life  :)
2. Preschooler went to the pumpkin patch Monday.
3. Tuesday we went to the pumpkin patch with our neighbor and his kids-which happens to be good friends to our kids too! They ran on hay bale mazes, a hay bale pyramid and picked pumpkins off the vine. The big boys loaded a bucket of chile's to split.
Bartles Pumpkin Patch
 Team Work
 3 BIG pumpkins
And a full bag of Chilies
 $15-I love this place.
Not to mention, the owners are super sweet/nice. Preschool showed up 45 minutes early, they let us look around and have our snack while the owner set up.THEN-get this-Tuesday we showed up at 5:50...they close at 6:00!!! The owner let us stay as late as we needed to let the kids burn off energy. We showed up with 7 kids!
Bartles has the best decorations too!!
4. Thursday once a month is my Clone day-yep-that was the day!! PTO at 6:00, late parent pick up 5:45, & Cub Scouts 6:30. I need a clone from 6:30-7:00, please it's only 30 minutes? I guess god did send me a clone in the form of a GOOD friend! Kathy is 100% willing to help out with the scout meetings. SHE ROCKED last night. I told her the acheivement to do and she planned everything. I walked in and the boys were getting ready to play Monoply (money lesson). I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends!
I was always the shy girl in school. I had a few friends, One best friend, I now have several awesome best friends that I truely could not live without.
5. Tonight is the Fall Festival at the kids school. I am in charge of the games. We have a bean bag toss, pumpkin bowling, spider races, fishing booth, jumping rope/hula hooping, making book marks, harvet toss(I nailed baskets to a long piece of wood and the kids will toss fruit into the basket-an idea from Hello Kitty Wii...lol) and book walk(like the cake walk). I sorted prizes, made the games-helped Deon finish the fishing pond and orginized volunteers.-I think it will be a fun night...but...TGIF!!
This weekend is another birthday party weeked! K-and I are going to the corn maze with girlscouts, then Cailyn's birthday party. The kids are entering the Lego Contest help at the Market in town, drop off their legos, Andon has a B-day party and then Devin has one Sunday!
Hope everyone has a great weekend :)

weekend recap

The weekend was spent finishing up the "boys only" club house;
 ladder to the top balcony
peeking out of the hatch is Mr. Toothless-just in time for Halloween(jack-o-lantern)
Taking a break before dinner to relax in the fort he built
A perfect Sunday morning drive up Penock Pass
to see the Aspens and fall colors-it rained for a while then cleared up as
we got closer to Poudre Canyon.
Another atempt at family pictures-good but kind of far away
 Girls-pose for pictures...
 Boys-do not!!
This is as good as it gets ;)
It was a great weekend, the photos do NO justice to what the fall colors really looked like-You get the idea.
Saturday as Deon was finishing up the clubhouse, the boys get supplies and pet mice-Yick.
They are becoming kinda cute, but I still can not bring myself to touch them. They have been playing with their new pets everyday, feeding them and filling the water. As much as I dislike these pets, it is teaching them responsibility.
Other then scouts, hockey, PTO's fall festivle coming up, horse lesson, and classroom vlounteering, nothing else is going on here!
