Kevin and Deon before the race started.
We got up early, for the race, after the kids ran, we went to breakfast at Dempsey's. Came home and finished my list then went to the store with Devin while the others went to Sports Authority. It was 3:00 and we have not had lunch yet, so we stopped at the Hibachi's buffet, headed home and watched movies, had snacks then early to bed for the kids while Deon and I watched Friday Night Lights on Netflix.
It was a great day... Deon's best gift was running the 5K(in 23 minutes) while his best fans were there to support him!

In Loving Memory of Grandpa

May 16, 2011: My grandfather passed away that morning. Grandpa Eddie was a great grandpa! He let us put curlers in his hair, play hide the thimble, play marbles like none other, and was great with wood as he tinkered in his wood shop in the basement of their house.

The boys Just got their new neckerchiefs and wanted to wear their

uniforms in Hays. Since the Funeral was a Military Funeral, the boys were able to

wear the uniforms.
It brought a tear to my eye when Devin gave grandpa Eddie a boy scout salute as the casket was being carried into the church. Another tear when the flag was folded and given to my dad at the burial since he too is a vertern.

I did not take but only two pictures that day, here is my sister and Aaron~ my Brother in Law at the Golden Coral for Lunch.

Following the lunch, my mom had dinner at her house that evening. We chatted and caught up with several relatives that I have not seen in years. I got the chance to meet my grandpa's youngest brother Vernie.

{My grandparents}

I miss the time spent as a child at my grandparents house playing paper dolls, shopping, visiting grandpa at work, driving in their car, going out to eat with them and so much more. Even though they are gone, I will never forget the memories we share!

Scout Graduation

Flash back to last year's graduation May 9, 2010:

Devin's backpack for perfect attendance

Showing off his Wolf neckerchief

Receiving his awards and handbook.

May 14, 2011: Scout graduation with both boys!

Devin was the only scout this year to get perfect attendance in the pack. He got a backpack like the one last year. So for $5 I convinced him to sell the older one to his brother ;)

The New Wolves~Andon and his Den

Not sure how to delete pics...So here is a repeat...

Devin showing his new Bear neckerchief

Andon is getting promoted to a Wolf, by a new Bear.

The Tigers singing a song before awards began.

As the bear Den Mother/leader I made blankets for my scouts to sew there patches on. I got navy blue fleece and sewed a yellow ribbon an inch from the end to add color.

Post picture soon.
This summer we will begin working in our new books and on the religious emblem as well as taking part in the summer activities planned with the pack.
