Girls Day

I came home from work Wednesday to find the boys had set up tents in their beds.
Stopped at the park just outside...she loves to swing.

Look what HATCHED!

The DANCE ROOM
Kendall I had a girls day while the boys were in school. Well actually we have girls day everyday because the boys are in school. It does not count when I am cleaning, cooking, and more cleaning that is no fun for her. So today we went to Target and got footless tights for her Dance class starting next Wednesday, and then went to the museum. When I took the boys with Scouts, they spent NO TIME in the DANCE ROOM. Today, Kendall and I DANCED MOST of the TIME we where there. Then she "explored" looking and collecting flowers, the kind that grow wild, they are yellow, and you can write on your skin with.
Well on our way around town today, out of the blue sky, Kendall says "I am still going to marry William, and we will have REAL babies." YIKES-need I say more?? This worries me since she is only 3. Like my sister said "3 going on 30" Lets only hope she is 30 when real babies come.
I will post pics of our wonderful day together soon.

Week in review

This week:
My "hot" husband doing pull ups on natures playground

You can barely see Deon running on the trail across the way from us.

I wore this hat when I was about her age. She did not like it last year, but thinks it is cool this year since it was mine.

Being a monkey.

Little man, big stick

Climbing around on the rocks on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. Since dad took his shirt off to get a little sun, ALL the kids thought they should be like daddy ("all" means Kendall too..)

The only photo of me-taken by ME

Boys and trees...

My Beautiful babies!

Kendall's first sleep over! Cailyn and her brother Cannon spent the night Friday and hung out with us half of Saturday too. The kids were so good and had a great time reconnecting with old friends. It was so good to see Janesa and her babies again!

She crashed like Sleeping Beauty while watching the movie "Sleeping Beauty".
Thursday night the boys had Evan over for a sleep over. I think I am sleepovered out for a couple weeks. Good thing I had a GNO on Saturday night. We got flip flops, our toes painted, shopping for clothes for US NOT OUR KIDS, and ended the evening/night at Z'quilla with good food, drinks and friends (crista and jami).

Devin hosted a reading Tea party at school with his class. Parents were invited to tea, cookies and juice while listening to the kids in class read their story about penguins. They all did such an awesome job.
P.S. I made his #7 shirt!!

SIMPLE THINGS THAT MATTER MOST

They since have cut a window in the left side.

My kids have a room full of Legos, stuffed animals, bacugonesn(SP error), cars, trucks, tinker toys, and the list goes on and on. Yet they are still asking for more toys. Today I realized they DO NOT NEED ANY MORE TOYS!! They spent the entire day playing with a card board box. They built a fort and then igloos, outside they played Indians (made a sling shot from an old crochet set and rubber band) and made a homemade slide from a wooden board (I am sure that is not the safest) So...they do not need all those fancy toys, ITS THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE THAT MATTER MOST!

FIVE for FRIDAY

A LITTLE EARLY:
1. Today I ran my second 3 mile run outside. It was much better than the last run I did on Monday. I am/have been preparing to run the Flying Pig 5K on April 11. The proceeds go to Foothills gateway, which helps families with disabilities.
2. Today I also had a Fancy Nancy tea party with Kendall. We had pink pretzels, with pink lemonade and a burrito to go with it. We had a nice time talking about fancy words and her morning at preschool.
3. Today I also had a phone conference with Andon's teacher. She said he is doing well; math , writing and reading are all above grade level. He is shy in class, and takes school seriously. She said she thinks that is just how he will be, and to keep doing what I have been doing. This summer move him up to easy readers, which is really reading independently with some help.
4. Not sure what the weekend holds in store for us other then the 5k on Sunday. Friday I will watch Quin and work out with Suzanne.
5. Devin has been preparing his rock collection for scouts tonight. He can earn a belt loop for collections by showing his pack something he collects and write a little about it..
Hope to stay up-to-date with my blog.

Easter 2010

Easter day: Easter bunny filled the baskets, we went to church, got coffee/hot choc. after at Wild Boar. While enjoying my SF skinny vanilla latte, I watched out the window and saw snowflakes falling. In this picture below, Andon is in a short sleeve shirt- at the park -later- that SAME day. Deon went mountain bikin with Wes so we went to the park and tried to fly our new kite.
Lovin on Dixie
EASTER BUNNY LOOT:
Light saber, zuzu pet, candy and mini kite

Star wars science light saber(build your own and learn about light), zuzu pet, mini kite candy

Fancy Nancy sticker book, fairy mini kite, zuzu pet, candy

The weekend before Easter, my mom and sister came out to Wellington. We had a couple egg hunts, Pine wood Derby race, Cindy's Birthday Party, and a nice visit with them.

Going on the hunt

Coloring Easter Eggs with grandma Connie, Aunt Sharon, and Lauren.

You should have seen her hands after...covered with egg dye.

Getting creative with science droppers and egg dye.

Wellington Easter egg hunt..the first one they did. Let me just suggest they add more eggs and maybe divide the ages up a little better. Some kids got NO eggs. Andon got crammed in with some older kids and got NOTHING. Thank you Lauren for sharing.

Devin's Derby race

The car and the trophy.
The Tiger Scouts
My proud "little" guy.

The Tiger scout best in show award:

The line up:
Devin's car is the second car from the left. He raced his car six different times, each time his car came in last. He was so proud his car took 1st in show, I am so proud of him too! He was so excited about getting his car ready for the big day!

March 7th weekend

Little Girls doing spa night with the big girls
Making Hearts with Aunt Jeanette, Sharon, mom and Cindy.

I picture I found of both grandparents, I believe it was taken a couple Christmas' ago.
Grandma Clara

(These pictures were not the most recent)

I went home for a girls weekend with my sisters the 1st weekend in March. I made bierocks, and hearts(the German cookies). I saw my sisters, parents, and aunt Jeanette. Ending my trip to Hays, my sisters and I stopped by to say Hi to our grandparents at Good Sam's. We had a wonderful visit with grandma and grandpa. How would one ever know that would have been the last one? I am so blessed I had the chance to see her.

LOVE the ones you have, tell them in different ways how much they mean to you, hold them extra long, treasure the time you have, we never know when it will be gone.

Here is a quote I heard:

LITTLE things don't mean much, They mean EVERYTHING!

Flash back to March 13th weekend

March 15th we took our minds out for some FUN! After the funeral we took a day spend with grandma and grandpa at the KS Cosmosphere in Hutch. The kids loved exploring and learning about space. We watched the IMAX Vikings movie, star gazing, and EXPLOSIONS! The boys want to be scientists now! Andon told me he wants to blow things up like Kate the science girl did...YIKES!
This summer I have something planned for everyday of the week. For example, Mondays: crafts, Tuesdays: field trips, Wednesdays: Cooking, Thursdays:Will be science, Friday: water play. Any way, I was short a day and realized how much they love science so why not have a science day??
