FIVE for FRIDAY

Yummo! My girlfriend brought over these molten chocolate cupcakes, perfect with a latte-not so perfect for lunch with no healthy food in the tummy. I had sugar overload and actually felt ill
:( But it was so worth it!

More cheer leading stunting-this girl can not seem to get enough cheering/dance time. I have spent the last 4 days/evening sitting on the couch watching her dance/cheer.

Cheer Camp was Saturday all day-Kendall LOVED it! She is still practing two weeks later. After Cheer Camp, she said"How come we did not go outside and roast marshmallows?" Too Funny-then she was rambling something about 'next time I should bring a tent' It took me a while to realize what she was talking about-Cheer "camp" was associated with outdoor camping.

End of the Hockey game-I just signed Andon up for hockey skate lessons thru the rec center. He was inspired by the boys on ice. He said he wants to play hockey but is afraid to because he does not know how to ice skate.

Sporting my CSU shirt for the game.

Final score:5 CSU and 3 CU

Boys before the game started.

Five for Friday:
1. Kendall spent the night with Aunt Cindy Saturday after Cheer camp. They baked cookies, watched movies and played with the cats. I slept with my phone just in case, she did great-no phone call, Kendall had so much fun she did not even want to talk to me on the phone.
2. valentines day was busy. I volunteered in the morning, came home and got a little party ready for the kids at home. Then my girlfriend brought up lunch and she stayed with the kids while I went to the boys valentine parties. That evening i made spaghetti, had wine and the family ate by candle lite
3. the weekend was simple- took the kids to the park Sunday it was so nice out. Plan A was to go ride the bike trail in FC but Deon was in a mood and i was too-so that plan did not work out so well.
4. GNO last night at a piano bar. It was a good time! I would like to take Deon there sometime.
5. PTO dance at the school tonight, i will be taking pictures and dancing!

FIVE for FRIDAY

It has been awhile since I posted a Five For Friday.
1. Sunday was a Deon and Jen day! We dropped the kids off at religion class and went to Austin's for Brunch-1st time there for breakfast-it was very good! Picked the kids up got them lunch and dropped them off at Aunt Cindy's house while we went to Cirque Du Soleil at the Budweiser Event Center. The show had wonderful costumes, props, and actresses/actors. However after seeing a couple other shows at Disney World, and the circus, I we a little disappointed. Deon and I would like to see the show in Vegas sometime, we are both sure it would be STUNNING!
2. While sitting at the show, the lady next to me was with a huge group of senior citizens, I overheard her talking about KS and thought I heard her say Hays? At intermission, I asked her about it-SURE ENOUGH one of her parent's was from Victoria, also family in Munjor, the women moved away at a very young age and spent most of her time in California. She is related to Dreiling's and Leiker's. Deon's mom is a Leiker but we seemed to not get far in conversation with her(personality type) as to if they were ralated or not. Her grandfather(?) put in one of the stained glass windows at the Victoria church and helped build it. Growing up in a community like Hays, I am sure her extended family knew both Deon's and my family somehow!
3. PTO spoke at Kindergarten open house last night. We set up a new system to help take some of the pressure off the board members. Left that night with several new parents and even experienced parents that signed up for a volunteer title this Fall! So excited about this!!
Which brings me to #4
4. Kindergarten open house...I was there as a parent as well. My youngest daughter will be going to Kindergarten this Fall. It is bitter/sweet, she is such a handful at home with her strong personality and my relaxed/laid back personality-we tend to clash. I am sad as well, because even though we are opposite personalities, I really miss her when she is gone for more than half a day. I will have no one to dance with, laugh with, do tea parties with, or help me bake the way she does :(
Plus the reality of my youngest starting school is beginning to sink in. I remember when she was born, I thought this day was WAY IN THE FUTURE! Well the future is here and I am not sure I am ready to admit it.
5. Deon got tickets from work to the CSU-CU hockey game at the Budweiser Event Center for tonight. Only problem is he could only get 4 tickets, so our friends-the White's- will watch Kendall for us. This is our first Hockey game EVER! I am excited to watch CSU vs. CU. Since I spent the last 12 years in Fort Collins, I most definitely will be cheering for CSU-GO RAMS!
6. I have one more post to blog about-tomorrow Kendall is going to Cheer camp at Pourde High, she is beyond excited, and waited for the day all WEEK. Afterwords she will have a sleepover at Aunt Cindy's-waited for this ALL WEEK AS WELL!! She packed for Cindy's on Monday, and added things to her suit case since.
As you can see, this week has been EXCITING-lots of excited posts.

Valentine's Crafts

Home today with 9-yes 9 kids! Got the call last night at dinner time saying school was canceled due to the freezing cold temps. I stood there debating whether or not to shout it out to the kids because I was in disbelief-No School-REALLY? I got calls from friends that worked today wondering if I could watch their kids....So I made Valentine cupcakes for snack, we ate pizza for lunch, boys are playing Mario on the Wii, girls are surf/boat dramatic play(they are very dramatic) and baby is sleeping. 1st grade Valentine's for his class-I know I am WAY ahead of the game-but I have three kids to make Valentine cards for the class.

2nd grade Valentine's-He liked the idea of the ipod-these are from Family Fun-as well as the love guppies (above)

Valentine banner above the back patio door. The kids decorated the hearts, we also "sewed" two of the foam hearts together and made a bag with these.

Heart butterflies

Decoration I made a couple years ago for a Valentine party the kids had.

Preschool felt heart bags with lily charm pops as Kendall's classroom party Valentine's. Don't mind the messy craft table-thats what it is-kids craft table

Teacher gifts:

Cupid will fill these felt hearts with love goodies...the kids will get a little puppy and a box of chocolates..maybe some other things too!

The little bag hung with devin's heart is one of the foam hearts we "sewed" together

Snowy Sunday

Sunday's are grocery shopping, religion and relaxing days here. Woke up to snow this Sunday morning decided not to venture to Fort Collins for religion class, therefore I had to leave early to get groceries. This is what I came home too:
