Dixie

Well in our search for the right dog...we found Dixie. Here is the story: We saw the add on Craig's list, I replied once but never spoke with the lady(phone tag/messages). The next day, the posting was removed. A couple days later it was there again. I responded and did not hear back until 2 days later. She called and we went to meet Dixie that evening. While we were there, I told K- Dixie is a girl and her eyes and mouth both turned into ovals(her famous look).
Dixie is a great dog so far. The kids all agreed that Dixie was coming home with us. When we got home, Dixie got the grand tour of her new home. K-had to put a tutu on the dog first thing. The kids all have jobs to do taking care of her. D-feeds her, A-is water control and K-is lunch feeding/snacks. We all volunteered dad as the poo-patrol while I do everything else(which I have a feeling is alot)LOL!

Snowflakes on Sunday

Just sitting here enjoying the snowflakes fall. Hoping, just maybe the kids will not have school tomorrow. So much to blog about:
1. Currently we are looking for a new addition to the family, NO NOT a baby..LOL a DOG! We thought we were going to get a dog Saturday but he was gone. It was all the kids were talking about all week (after meeting the dog last week). Soooo, we drove across town to the Human Society to look at more dogs-NO LUCK. We are just waiting for the right one to come along.
2. This May we are taking a trip to Disney World with my family, we are taking part in the Give A Day-Get A Day promotion. We are making 2 blankets each for children in the hospital, the trauma unit. I talked to the kids about the purpose of making the blankets, they understood and were quite excited about making something for others that would make sick kids feel comfort. The family went to Jo-anns and picked out fabric, at home they helped cut and tie the fleece blankets. It was a great way to involve them in helping others.
3. I am just getting over this cold I got last week. I took an entire week off from the gym..BLAH. Now I have this crazy rash on my lower body. i hope it is from taking too much honey or the fat tire I drank at Wesley's and Liza's birthday party. I don't know what else it could be from?? I hope I am able to work out tomorrow.
4. Last week I told K- that if she slept in her own bed, Deon would make her a barbie house. Well, she slept in her own bed...when she woke up, she told dad she needed her house built. I failed to tell Deon about my plan because I figured it would not happen. He will make her a house, but she has to sleep in her bed for several nights-Not just 1 night. It has not been going well since.
5. My kids lately:
De vine Devin has been busy playing with Michael after school, playing with Andon and having play dates with Anthony and James from school. However his school work has been a high priority this school year. He is above grade level in reading, and math facts and spelling tests are coming home with 100% almost every week. He likes to read Magic tree House books, eat mac n cheese, listen to dogs bark and play with his puppy.
Awesome Andon has been busy playing, reading, and doing homework. He never complains about doing homework and enjoys reading Biscuit books all by himself. He is content playing alone or with others. At school he plays with Aliya, Luke, and Caid. He can complete a Lego set w/o help, and likes to take his time to do his best work at everything he does. He likes to read Biscuit books, eat ravioli, listen to Magic tree House Book 92 on CD, and play with gariffee.
I just LOVE my boys!
Kenderella/Kendalina -these are Kendall's nick names. The first one came from Cinderella, and the other one Camhi started calling her because she is tiny like thumblina. Kendall makes me laugh out loud, she has brought a more girlie attitude to myself, and can take care of herself, with 2 older brothers, she HAS too! She likes to attend preschool where she can be around her friends(Andrew,Cheyenne, Clayton), dress up & change clothes several times a day, and play babies all the time. She reads Fancy Nancy books, eat waffles and doughnuts, listen to princesses sing-a-long and play with mom
I will try to blog more often ;) Going to make cookies on this snowy day...
