SCIENCE DAY # 4

We watched How to Train a Dragon *BTW I LOVED it* so did Devin. He has been in to dragons lately, making them out of legos, wood and nails, drawing them and wearing them...reading about them too. These are his dragon wings.

Mom, see my magic potions

Magic Potion science experiment:green corn syrup, blue water, and regular colored vegetable oil. After settling, we dropped a grape (which sat on top of the green layer) then tried a paper clip(sank to the bottom) We talked and made predictions why it happened the way it did. Then we passed around the ingredients and saw how think the corn syrup was compared to the water and oil. Kendall ended up spilling half the water by testing out its density... LOL!

More Science experiments: the equipment/supplies.

They were on a science kick so we made slime Thursday too. Devin also made a stink bomb earlier that morning.

Last week we made rock crystal candy *did not work out* a week later, we are still waiting for the crystals to grow*

I am just loving my summer. More to blog about, however I am tired and the kids start swim lessons in the morning, Karate class this week and a hike Wednesday. Look for future posts: Bike-n-Jazz and BMX trail photos, my new hobbies, and update on this weekends events *Plus Andon's new adventure...

Father's Day weekend

At the Drive Inn Theater: The Karate Kid. Awesome movie, modern, and had some similarities and differences as well from the Karate Kid originals.

*She crashed before the movie started. The boys and I were wishing on stars, i just made my wish and then I told the boys what I wished for (BIG MiStakE...BIG), just ten minutes later, she woke up and sat with me on the lawn chair. We watched about 20 mins. of the movie when she puked on me. I laid her back down on the van floor where she slept the rest of the movie. Since we all had this flu bug the week prior, I just stayed at the movie. Had we been at the theater, I obviously would have left.
Saturday Kendall and I went shopping while the boys went to Karate(note the skirt). Deon called and wanted us to meet them at lake Murry while him and Wes did kayak rolls.

Devin OVERBOARD...he quit paddling and floated out a little ways, got scared and jumped out of the boat. He got the speech about never jumping overboard, you are safe in your boat. NEVER do it without a life jacket.

Sunday morning Devin had his first horse riding lesson. It was an hour long(too long for him right now). He learned lots and is super excited about his true LOVE...HORSES!

Chantelle is our babysitter/friend she is also excited to give lessons! Devin let dad cut his hair tonight only because he will be seeing her tomorrow for lessons again.

Taking the horse back to his spot. Devin was telling me all about the bridal, how to steer a horse and make it go/stop. Devin has showed an interest in horses since he was 4, I am so happy to see him excited about something he has an interest in.

We discovered our Build-a-bear kitty has the same Cinderella dress as Kendall! I have hung up the dress in hopes to keep it FANCY for awhile. Kendall has wore it almost everyday, however she is being responsible about keeping is clean. We will be having a Cinderella Birthday party and be Cinderella for Halloween too!

Every year we take a picture of Kendall by the Iris' However I can not find the last couple years pictures to show how much she has changed.

Me and Kendall at the Poudre River. We went to check out the water levels. Due to all the snow fall this winter, the river is the highest it has been in maybe 8 years. Out east has been under flood watches and it has not been raining (until the last few days).

Poudre Canyon-we went up Thursday after Deon got off of work.

Thought the kids could put their feet in...hence the swimsuits and halter dress K-is wearing, once we saw the water rushing down the river, we quickly changed our minds and watched from a distance.

Science experiment-DNA of a pea
We went to the Discovery Center on Thursday for something to do related to science. Thursday is our science project day and I really did not want to make silly putty, so I was glad that it was science experiment day at the museum.

Making a sound like a Dinosaur would have millions of years ago. We took Michael with us and got Sonic drinks afterwards (since it was Happy Hour :)

On a Rainy Day Saturday, we went to the Nature and Science Museum in Denver. Here is Devin looking into a funny mirror. He was the perfect height to make us LOL!

Disney World

Last day at Disney World: I went on a Date with my 2 boys, we went to down town Disney the Lego Store. The boys built a lego car and raced it, built their own lego guys, and bought a set of legos with their own $.

DAY 5: Sharon and Lauren after the Lula dinner. Aaron missed out out because he was not feeling well.

Kendall was sad she did not get picked to be a hula/belly dancer. She kept wondering why they did not choose her a the adult volunteer. Maybe next time Kendall...

Morning of DAY 5: the older kids went on a pirate hunt. They searched the surrounding hotels for clues to find the treasure chest.

Epcot: DAY 4, Kendall, Grandma, Grandpa, and I went to a princess brunch at Epcot. After, we spent the day there too.

Rafting ride, Hello Sharon, Aaron, Andon and Lauren. Grandma and I were on the other side of Aaron. Deon and Devin left the line to go to the bathroom and missed the ride.

DAY 2: Later that day we went to Hollywood studioes without Kendall. Sharon and Aaron took Kendall to the hotel to swim with Lauren.

*Later that day when I got Kendall at the pool, she was MAD at me!! She was hitting me ect. So I took her back to the room to take a nap. While we where there, she continued to cry, hit and yell at me. THEN she BITE me on the arm(leaving a bruise). I was MAD then, the only thing I could do was to "throw" away her minnie mouse ears and doll she just bought. This seemed to do the trick. If she could stop crying before the "cleaning" ladies came to get the trash, she could have her stuff back. It worked and she even took a NAP!*

We went to bugs life Playground for the kids. the boys were tired, wanted to swim, and did not enjoy the area that much except for the film canister slide.

The first ride of the trip was Snow White. Kendall HATED that ride. She told me later that morning(while waving her finger at me) that we will never go on that ride again...remember that mom, never go on the snow white ride AGAIN!! she kept on repeating..
